  • Bryan's Underrated Gem

The iTunes reviewer must have only listened to select portions of this record--how else to explain the comment that this record lacks hooks or good melodies? Exhibit A: The powerpack back-to-back combo of "Before the Night is Over" and "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" arguably Bryan's best rockers of the decade. The ballads feature some of Bryan's most intimate, sparsely produced songs and will be enjoyed by anyone who thinks going "unplugged" is one of his strong points. This record rewards and demands repeat listenings. His recordings this decade are not without some excellent material but "On A Day Like Today" is Bryan's best overall record in 15 years. A must-have for any fan.
  • BA's Best Record As A Whole

I really feel like this album is a whole album, there is no black sheep song or song that is just a filler, it's a complete album in my mind. The same can't be said for Adam's other records. I've been a Bryan Adams fan for a long time, 12 years now, and this has always been my favorite record of his. It's not as upbeat as his more notable records, but the music and lyrics are so well structured in this record. Obviously this record kinda tanked for Adams and that is unfortunate but still, there is no other Adams record that I love more that On A Day Like Today. This record is a piece of musical art that just makes you FEEL apart of music when you listen to it, and that's music I love most, music that makes you FEEL something.

  • Review for "When You're Gone"

"When You're Gone" is amazing. This is because it has Melanie C of the Spice Girls! They are the best group ever! Buy this song right now! Request for iTunes: I'm trying to collect the Spice Girls' B-sides. Could you try to get all their singles? Click yes if you like this song! :D
  • His best overall album

    By Darrinsgoodman
As a long time fan of Bryan Adams - this has to be his overall best record of his extensive catalog. The songs here are all hit worthy and so well written/crafted. An absolute masterpiece. This really takes Bryan into another level of his career. Too bad here in the States no one seemed to notice. "Getaway" and "Before The Night Is Over" are vintage Bryan. "Inside Out", "When You're Gone, "Cloud Number Nine", and "If I Had You" are faves. Such an underappreciated artist. There is so much more here than the "soundtrack balladeer" and "eighties hitmaker" that he is often labeled with.
  • Softer and slower than some others, but just as good

I thought that this cd is awesome! While Bryan has had other cds that r more upbeat, these songs are soothing and relaxing. Bryan's voice is amazing! I disagree w/ the review- don't dis his work! Its impressive!

I love this album! It's great to relax and mellow off too when I'm working on my art assignments. Bryan Adams's voice is rich and pleasant to the ear. Usually I don't place much importance in lyrics when I listen to music, but in this case the lyrics definently are: A) Meaningful and obviously well thought out and B) Easy to relate to. I'd suggest "How Do Ya Feel Tonight","C'mon C'mon C'mon", "Cloud Number Nine", "When You're Gone", "Inside Out", and "If I Had You". My favorite track though is "Inside Out". Download the entire album though if you've got the cash! You wouldn't regret it! :)

I love his earlier stuff but there is something great about this album. Almost every song is written amazingly. "Inside out" and "If I had You" are incredible. This album is much stronger then his new one "Room Service". Out of all his albums, this is his most consistent and most appealing.
